We picked up the Urban Armor Gear (UAG) Monarch iPhone case for our iPhone 7 device and here’s our impressions.
Smartphones today are getting more and more thin, sleek and slippery – the iPhone included. Its almost impossible to own an iPhone without dropping it. And considering the premium price you’re paying for the device, you don’t want to end up with scratches and cracks and ruin its good looks. And you certainly don’t want to end up with a non functional iPhone.

Monarch iPhone Case from UAG
UAG are well known for their smartphone accessories and I decided to check out their Monarch Series of iPhone cases for my iPhone 7. The Monarch iPhone 7 case is available in a range of colors including Platinum, Graphite, Midnight and Crimson. I decided to go for the All Black Midnight case and loved it at first sight. Here are my impressions!
This particular series of iPhone case comes with a 5 layer protection. There’s an Armor frame that runs across the back of the device and takes the impact from drops.

Then, there’s the top grain leather that runs inside the frame adding a classy look to the case. There’s also a poly carbonate shear plate that provides the stiffness needed to protect from larger impacts. An alloy metal hardware holds all the layers together using screws and an impact resistant rubber gives it a flexibility, durability and lightness that is the trademark of the Monarch iPhone case.
All these 5 layers of protective material makes the iPhone case tough and sturdy, yet surprisingly light and non-bulky. In terms of looks, the Monarch case is a beauty, with a gorgeous honey comb design adding to its premium looks.
The UAG Monarch case offers 2X drop protection. Simply put, you can drop it twice as many times as the standard drop tests permit and it wouldn’t take an impact. The case can endure up to 52 drops from a height of no more than 4 feet. So don’t go around flinging your iPhone in the air and expecting it to be intact when it lands on the ground. That’s not going to happen!
The Monarch case for the iPhone 7 has a great grip, with proper cutouts available for all the necessary ports. The iPhone sits nicely inside and the case doesn’t obstruct any of the features of the phone. The raised edges on the case keeps the iPhone screen safe from scratches when it falls and there’s a 10 year limited warranty to boot.
I picked up the UAG Monarch iPhone case at Amazon for $59.99 and I’m super happy with my purchase. This is a really tough case that’s not bulky and I really love the honeycomb design that just adds a touch of class to it.
If you’re looking for a classy iPhone case that promises powerful drop and impact protection without feeling bulky, the UAG Monarch case fits the bill nicely.
Check it out on Amazon or at the official store and let us what you think of it!
