For one, there’s support for Apple Watch-based podcast playback. This means you can play podcasts either locally or ones that are streamed over LTE on the Apple Watch Series 3.
There’s also support for location tracking, mapping of saved workout routes and swimming workouts.
You’ll also appreciate the integration with Siri. Now all you need to do is say “Start Outdoor Walking workout in Workouts++” and you can get started right away.
Apart from these feature improvements, the app also features some major design changes. You now have a refreshing new custom workout configuration and workout detail display system.
The developers have also added Stopwatch, Elevation, Average pace/speed and Activity ring metrics for display during workout. Distance and Duration alerts have also been incorporated.
Finally if you run out of battery in the middle of your workouts, you can get your metrics in the Workout recovery mode.
In all, version 2.0 is better than before, making all your workout tracking on the Apple Watch easier than ever.
